Quality and HSE Policy
QUALITY, ENVIRONMENTAL, OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICY
Scope of Application
This document is mandatory for all GCR employees. It is available to employees and external collaborators on the company website (www.gcrplasticsolutions.com).
Coverage
GCR’s core business includes the design, development, production, and commercialization of recycled polymers, compounds, and mineral masterbatches based on virgin and/or recycled polymers.
At GCR, quality, innovation, and sustainability are the pillars that drive us to continually pursue excellence as a distinctive value of our organization.
GCR continuously invests in state-of-the-art technology and equipment to ensure efficient processes that deliver the highest quality products. Cooperation and trust with our suppliers and customers are essential to achieving these goals.
Quality and fulfilment of commitments are the foundation of our value proposition to ensure customer satisfaction. GCR’s policy is rigorously applied across all stages of product development, production, and commercialization to meet the technical and operational needs of our customers and stakeholders throughout the value chain. Quality, prevention, and continuous improvement are objectives shared by all employees in their daily activities.
At GCR, we are committed to protecting and respecting the environment. We optimize the use of resources—particularly non-renewable ones such as raw materials, water, and energy—to reduce environmental degradation (including biodiversity and ecosystem impacts), mitigate our carbon footprint, and minimize air emissions. We prioritize the use of products and services with lower environmental impact and actively promote proper classification, reduction, and management of waste through a circular economy approach.
We dedicate our efforts to developing environmentally efficient products that meet market and societal expectations. Beyond complying with all applicable legal requirements related to our products and activities, we operate under the highest standards of efficiency and environmental impact management. As proof of our commitment, our activities are audited under the OCS Europe (Operation Clean Sweep) certification, aimed at minimizing the environmental impact of our products during industrial processing.
The health and well-being of our employees and collaborators is our top priority. We are committed to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment, free from hazards. GCR prioritizes taking all necessary measures to eliminate risks at their source and, where unavoidable, to implement appropriate controls to prevent harm and safeguard health. We continuously foster a culture of prevention, encouraging good practices and providing ongoing training in occupational health and safety. Furthermore, we aim to protect materials, our facilities, client assets located on our premises, and the surrounding environment.
The objectives of our integrated management policy include the following priorities:
- Plan, align, and coordinate the necessary resources to consolidate our position as a global benchmark in the sector.
- Develop more sustainable products with enhanced properties to maintain leadership in innovation across our material application value chain.
- Expand the high-value-added recycled plastics market, with a focus on increasing our polyolefin recovery services.
- Invest in our Innovation Center with new technologies for product, process, and service development.
- Foster strong relationships with suppliers and customers to understand and meet their expectations, building collaborative and trust-based partnerships.
- Continuously analyse processes and management systems, monitoring defined objectives, targets, and indicators while applying continuous improvement tools and methodologies to ensure product quality.
- Remain environmentally proactive with 100% recyclable products compatible with degradable agents, minimizing the environmental impact of our production processes.
- Raise customer awareness of the environmental and social benefits of our products, such as energy savings and CO₂ emission reduction.
- Conduct our activities with the highest protection for life and human integrity, ensuring the health and well-being of employees and the communities where we operate.
- Combat climate change by preventing and reducing greenhouse gas emissions in our operations, products, and services.
- Establish and oversee specific commitments related to significant environmental aspects, including the consumption of material, energy, and water resources, as well as waste reduction through eco-design, resource reduction, and reuse.
Approval, Implementation, and Oversight
This policy has been approved by GCR’s General Management and is effective from the date of its approval and publication on GCR’s internal document management platform. It is communicated to all staff via the internal communication platform integrated with the human resources and corporate communication system, as well as published on the company’s official website. The policy is reviewed annually and updated as needed. All new hires receive onboarding training on the integrated management system, including this policy.
Senior management is responsible for ensuring that the integrated management system is provided with the necessary financial, human, technical, and organizational resources to guarantee the implementation, effective operation, and continuous improvement of the Quality, Environmental, and Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems.
The responsibility for enforcing the quality, environmental, and occupational health and safety policy lies with senior management, which delegates coordination and execution of the necessary actions to the respective quality, environmental, and occupational health and safety departments.
